My first Ake Arts and Book Festival experience was last year, and I had a great time. Someone called me an Ake virgin, I found it hilarious, lol!. The recent announcement of their 2020 Theme “African Time”, got me reminiscing on my experience. I wrote about it last year but did not add any pictures, so I thought to share a few.
The golden Amala I had for two days, Hmm! sumptuous, I can tell you’re salivating!!!
The bare-chested men guarding the Village Arena, you know I had to take a picture with them right? Lol!
My love for henna ehn!!! I got it done in the Village Arena, loved how simple and nice it looked.
Scar or Art? I choose Art. Sometimes embracing your scars help you see them as Art, they begin to look beautiful to you because your orientation about them has changed.
The books I bought because this is the year of exploring African Literature. Yes!!!
The Literary Festival, adjusting to the new normal, will be held online this year. For more details check their social media handles; twitter and Instagram.
