Workout Routines to do at Home

Having workout routines at home can be daunting sometimes, especially when you have to motivate yourself to be active. The lockdown period did not help matters and exercising just seemed like a distant cry for me. But two weeks into lockdown, after too much eating and constant bloating, I decided to pick myself up and start a workout routine.  I found some nice workout videos on Youtube that have now become my workout routine.

Leslie Sansone’s Walk at Home Workout Routines

Leslie’s workout routines are my favourite because they are easy to follow and achievable. While her programs focus mainly on walking at different speeds and time, Leslie includes other components such as core rotations and standing curls to tone specific muscle groups, giving you a full-body workout. I always feel energised after her classes.

Strong by Zumba Full-Body Toning Workout

This workout gets my heart pumping and tones my body. It is a high-intensity workout but is short and power-packed. I try to do HIIT workouts at least twice a week to burn calories and get maximal health benefits in minimal time. HIIT is known to increase metabolism for hours after exercise. This workout session is intense, you will feel the burns and get maximum impact.

Yoga for Beginners

I used to attend a yoga class last year, but the level I was doing was too advanced for me so I stopped. A month ago, I decided to start again, this time opting for this beginners’ class. Yoga is a combination of stretching poses and meditative breathing. It strengthens the core, improves flexibility, and increases muscle tone. It improves and maintains wellbeing.

Lastly taking walks as often as possible to enhance your health cannot be overemphasized. I try to take walks like 3 times a week. Aside from the health benefits, it is also refreshing to go out for some air. Doing house chores and taking short walks around the house are little ways to keep active.

    Helpful stuff! I do Leslie’s classes as well, really like them. I used to take zumba classes many years ago, I will certainly try this video. Thanks for sharing.
