HEALTHY EGG PIZZA RECIPE

Hi all, I am super excited to be given the opportunity to share one of my favourite healthy recipes; Egg Pizza Recipe, with everyone. I love all things food, health and lifestyle.

7 years ago, I started my health and fitness journey and this meant I had to reduce the amount of junk food I consumed, and Pizza was one of such foods. I stopped eating pizza because it is very high in calories. Therefore, I needed to find an alternative to pizza and that is how my Egg Pizza came about.

This recipe is healthy, filling and most importantly quick to prepare as the ingredients needed for this recipe are most likely in your fridge already. It is also very low in carbs and it has good fats and protein which is great for weight loss. It is also a great idea for breakfast.

Enough of me talking, let’s dive into the making of this Pizza Alternative.

Egg Pizza Recipe

Here are a few important things to note before you start;

  • A medium sized non- stick pan (that is oven safe) and Flat spatula to flip the egg is required
  • Please be mindful of the handle of the pan when bringing it out of the oven
  • Please also note that the toppings in this recipe can be tweaked to your preference, it is never exactly the same when I make it because I use what I have at home at the time
  • Please also be mindful of salt added to the eggs because the meat toppings used have salt already

PREP TIME:  10 Mins

COOK TIME: 15 Mins

TOTAL TIME: 25 Mins

SERVING:  1 to 2 servings

YIELD: 1 Pizza

Ingredients For Egg Pizza

Healthy egg pizza ingredients
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 30g light Mozzarella Cheese (50%)
  • 30g Mixed Peppers
  • 20g Pepperoni Slices
  • 30g Chicken Sausage
  • 25g Tomato sauce ( or left over tomato stew)
  • ÂĽ Scotch Bonnet (Fresh Pepper/ Atarodo)
  • ÂĽ Onions
  • Pinch of Black Pepper
  • Pinch of salt (Optional)
  • 2 sprays of fry light ( I used olive oil)

METHOD

Preheat the oven to 350 F(175 C).

In a bowl whisk the broken eggs, salt, black pepper and scotch bonnet together.

In a heated pan squirt 2 sprays of the olive oil fry light and pour the beaten egg mixture.

Flipped Egg

After 50 secs flip the egg base to the other side carefully using a spatula. Allow to heat up for another 30 secs. Remove from the heat and allow to cool for a minute.

On the cooled egg base spread the tomato sauce eventfully. And add all the toppings and finally the cheese.

Place the egg pizza in the oven for 6mins or when the cheese melts.

Set aside and allow to cool

Egg Pizza

Serve hot . This can be eaten alone or served with a slice of toast.

    Love it Oseme. Thank you for sharing this! Never heard or even tried out Egg pizza 🍕, this is definitely a first. will be trying out this weekend. Don’t have pepperoni though, can I substitute with sausages?
